So, Selena...
This was my first year filing taxes and I opted to add to add your service to my TurboTax package. I received an email confirming that I have audit defense, and while I’m happy to have an added “peace of mind,” I am admittedly confused.
What exactly does audit defense mean?

So, Taylor...
Congratulations on completing your first tax return, and on becoming a TaxAudit member! Deciding to include audit defense with your filing was a great choice! Now, let’s dive into the meaning of audit defense.
Audit defense is a service offered through TaxAudit to support our members in the event that their state or federal tax return is selected for review or audit. Based on the individual needs of the member (or what is being requested by the auditing agency), an expert from our team of enrolled agents (EAs), CPAs, and attorneys is assigned to aid the member from receipt of the first notice to completion of the audit. Our services include providing a detailed review of the notice and tax return for issues outlined in the audit as well as additional problem areas, developing an action plan, assisting with the preparation of documents, and of course handling IRS and state correspondence as needed. You can find more information on audit defense here.
While we hope our members don’t get audited, we are on standby, ready to protect and defend them, should they need our help.
