Hey Dave,

How long does it take to get my refund if I e-filed my taxes? It seems like I should have received it by now.

Charla

Charla,

The IRS has indicated that, due to budget cuts, it may take longer this year to issue refund checks - perhaps up to three weeks for efiled returns. Some refunds may be issued sooner, and, of course, some may be further delayed if there are concerns, such as a potential identity theft issues.

There’s a great tool on the IRS website you can use to check on the status of your refund. To use the tool, you will need to input your social security number, filing status, and the amount of your refund.

Deductibly Yours,

Dave
