In this blog, we will discuss our Tax Debt Relief program – what it is, what the process looks like, and some of the costs you might be able to expect.

First and foremost, we want our customers to know that we truly want to help people. We never want to add to the stress of facing tax debt, so our process was put together with the goal of providing incredible value at reasonable prices. We will never try to upsell and always charge a flat fee upfront, which includes all services performed.

Since the cost of our Tax Debt Relief program is determined by the complexity of your case and the time required to address individual tax debt, we cannot give you an exact quote in this blog. However, we can give you an idea of the process and some price ranges, so you know what Tax Debt Relief looks like before you start.

What is Tax Debt Relief?

When you sign up for Tax Debt Relief Services, you are paying for us to proactively engage with the IRS or state agency on your behalf to settle your debt as quickly, easily, and painlessly as possible. The specifics of this will vary depending on your financial situation and the debt you owe. Some of our services include assisting you with setting up an affordable payment plan, eliminating penalties, or even challenging the decision of your audit.

How Much Does Tax Debt Relief Cost?

Our service costs generally range between $1,000 and $5,000, depending on multiple factors, including the complexity of your case and the estimated time it will take to resolve it. For example, if your case has been assigned to a revenue officer, the fee may be closer to $5,000 because resolving this case may take longer and be more complex. On the other hand, if you need a streamlined installment agreement or penalty abatement, the cost is typically around $1,000.

What can I expect if I go through this process?

  • The first step we’ll evaluate your tax debt issue.
    • If you choose to proceed after your free consultation, we will need you to submit additional documentation to address the tax issue.

  • The next step is a Comprehensive Assessment.
    • If we are unable to determine what your tax issue is, your tax professional will need to conduct a Comprehensive Assessment. The cost for this initial service is $399. During the assessment, one of our Tax Resolution Specialists will contact the federal or state agency to discuss your case. Once we obtain the IRS transcripts, we will review them and discuss the best solution for your case with you.

  • Then, you will receive a quote and a personalized Tax Debt Relief Plan.
    • Your tax professional will provide a flat-fee quote for our Tax Debt Relief program based on the next steps. If you accept the quote and agree to move forward with us, your comprehensive assessment fee will be applied to your overall fee for representation.  This complete quote will outline all the services included in the program, and this will be the only fee you pay for the services outlined.

  • Lastly, we will work on your case!
    • Once we have identified your tax issue and you have accepted the quote, the next step will be to resolve your case. It's important to note that this phase can be time-consuming. During this stage, your tax professional will handle the preparation of all required forms and paperwork, which will then be submitted to the IRS or state taxing agency on your behalf. Your tax professional will act as your representative and maintain communication with the IRS or state tax agency throughout negotiations and will always prioritize your best interests. There may be some back and forth between the IRS and your tax professional, but you will receive regular updates on the status of your case until it is fully resolved.

When selecting a tax debt relief company, it's important to compare prices and choose a reliable company with the expertise to help resolve your tax debt.
