This sample IRS tax audit notice was sent to one of our members. IRS Letter CP87A informs the taxpayer that a dependent claimed on his or her tax return was also claimed on someone else's tax return. The IRS is asking the taxpayer to review the dependent's social security number and review the rules for dependents.
